Names of peoples are the biggest group. abipon is an Argentine people, abdali an Afghan tribe, abarambo a Congolese one. There are literary names too. abhorson is Shakespeare's executioner and arthemis is an old spelling of Artemis.
Dictionaries of this age printed names in a separate section at the back, so a definition lookup never finds them.
